More Flashback Skinny Tees

These are like potato chips- you can't only have one! Two more Flashback Skinny Tees using the pattern by Made By Rae.  Easy and instant gratification- I have gotten total assembly time (including cutting the pattern) to about an hour using the serger.  Both shirts are made with leftover scraps from other projects.

Tonight, I completed 2 pairs of boxers for my husband.  I used the 1st Choice Boxer pattern. Another great pattern, easy construction, and very comfortable (according to my guinea pig husband). No pictures, however one can be described using two words: Death Star.

Have a great evening everyone!

Flashback Skinny Tee

For the longest time I have been intimidated selectively avoiding sewing with knit fabrics.  I didn't want to have to deal with using a special needle, was unsure of appropriate finishing techniques, and the thought of cutting jersey fabric made me want to shudder.  Slowly, I have been warming up to sewing with knits.  I no longer want to run screaming out of the room...

I made my 4-year-old the Flashback Skinny Tee by Made by Rae.  This is the first knit project that I completed using only my serger!  The pattern has only 3 pieces and construction is simple.  Fabric is an interlock jersey obtained from Joanns.  Since the fabric width is 56 inches, I was able to make it out of only 1/2 a yard.   For the next one (and yes, there will be more) I would make the sleeve cuffs smaller; I find them too wide for the sleeve.   This pattern is fast!  From cutting out to having a completed garment: 1 hour.
